The Deputy Kurt B. Wyman Foundation was founded with the mission to keep Deputy Kurt B. Wyman's legacy alive through the construction and development of the Deputy Kurt B. Wyman Memorial Park. This park will be a tremendous resource for the children of our community that will allow them to make life long memories. The goal is to provide a playground area along with state-of-the-art soccer fields because Kurt was an avid soccer player. Along with his love of soccer, Deputy Wyman began his career in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He served with distinction in Iraq, and earned the Iraqi Campaign Medal, Sea Services Deployment Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. In 2007 he joined the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, where he earned the Grand Cordon Medal twice and was named 2010 Rookie of the Year, reflecting his strong character and commitment to law enforcement.
